The Wendigo is an evil spirit that comes from myths and folklore from the native American tribes, residing in North America and Canada. According to the folklore the Wendigo was once a human, but his survival is based on the practice of cannibalism, striking fear into the hearts of men. Some have claimed that the Wendigo has the hunger for human flesh. Those who claim to have seen the Wendigo say it was a fierce looking creature with glowing red eyes, long yellow fangs, at least fifteen feet tall, and matted fur stained of blood from his victims. In Native American tribes the Wendigo is known by many names, but its meaning is still the same. The Wendigo name means the evil spirit that devours mankind.
The stories of the Wendigo have been told many times over the years and yet alone sightings of it is rare. Sightings have been most prevalent among the northern forest of the United States and Canada due to cold climates. Jack Fiddler was a famous Wendigo hunter. Once a Cree Indian he has claimed to have killed 14 Wendigos in his lifetime, but ended up getting arrested for killing a woman who was cursed by the evil spirit and was about to turn into the Wendigo.
